Ærø Sejlforening has the pleasure of inviting to:
Class Championship for Nordic Folkboat in the period 20.08.2020 – 22.08.2020
1.1 The event is operated in accordance with the rules defined in the Racing Rules (RRS), including the Nordic Sailing Federation and Danish Sailing Union regulations as well as the Class Rules for Nordic Folkboats.
1.3 The language in force is English. If there is a conflict between the Danish text and the english text translated, the English text applies.
1.4 The rules have been changed as follows:
1.4.1 The introduction to Part 4 is changed so that the requirement for a life jacket when signal flag Y is shown does not apply only when sailing.
1.4.2 Rule 35, A4 and A5 are changed so boats that do not complete within 20 minutes of the first boat to be noted "not completed".
1.4.3 The rules 44.1 are changed in accordance with Article 11(2) of Regulation (EC) No 1782/2003. paragraph 10 of the invitation.
1.4.4 Rule 60.1(a) is changed so that a boat cannot protest to certain parts of the sailing regulations.
1.4.5 Rule 61.1(b) is changed so that protests from racing and the protest committee will simply be posted on the official bulletin board
1.4.6 Rule 62.2 is changed so that the time limit for reopening a protest for reimbursement is shorter than the rule provides.
1.4.7 Rule 66 is changed so that the time limit for reopening a hearing is shorter than the rule provides for.
1.4.8 Appendix A4 is changed as follows: Boats starting later than four minutes after the start signal are noted "not started". The precise wording of the amendments will be made clear in the sailing regulations. The sailing regulations may also change other racing rules.
1.4.9 The Race committee can allow a boat to race under a sail number other than the one allotted by her national authorities. This change CR 9.14, RRS 77, 86.1(b) and Appendix G according to RRS 87
2.1 Advertising on Nordic Folkboats is not allowed in this Regatta.
2.2 The event organizer reserves the right to impose competition advertising on participants.
3 Participation and registration
3.1 The event is open to Nordic Folkboats.
3.2 The helmsmann has to be a member of the Danish Folkboat Club. All crew members must be members of a DS club. Foreign participants must be members of your national Folkboat Club and a sailing club of your national federation.
3.3 Boats who have a valid class certificate and valid liability insurance can register by filling in the registration form on the website http://www.fbdm2020.dk/which is part of the invitation, and deposit the deposit into reg. 2047 account 8975 819 702. IBAN NoDK0720008975819702 latest by Friday 07 August 2020.At payment you MUST provided Sail number.
Alternative payment can be made on MobilePay No. 178616 marked DM 2020 and sail number and with the same time regulations.
4 Starting fee.
4.1 Starting fee is DKK 900,- pr. boat. kr 900,- pr. båd.
4.2 Upon registration later than specified in section 3.3, an additional fee of 300,- Dkk will be imposed. Registrations will not be accepted later than 14.08.2020 at 18.00 300,- Kr. Der accepteres ikke tilmeldinger senere end 14.08.2020 kl. 18.00.
5.1 Registration of boats and participants will take place between 19.08.2020 from 16:00 to 21.00 in the agency located in Marstal Sejlkubs Clubhouse.
5.2 A controle inspection and weighing of boats may be carried out before and throughout the event of the event from 19.08.2020 at 16.00 to 22.08.2020 kl. 17.00.
5.3 Sailing days:
A maximum of 8 races are planned.

6 Measurement and Control.
7 Sailing Instructions.
7.1 The sailing Instructions can be obtained at www.fbdm2020.dk or provided by registration.
8.1 The event is implemented from Marstal harbour.
9 The Course.
9.1 The sailing area is the waters north of Marstal, alternatively Marstal Bay, the Baltic Sea or the waters south of Strynø. No later than 8:00 on each day for races, the signalmast and the official notice board will signal, which area will be expected used for the races of the day.
9.2 The course will be up/down track with the reject mark and bottom gate and with start and finish at the bottom.
10 Penalty systems.
10.1 Rule 44.1 has been changed so that the 2 round penalty is replaced by 1 round penalty.
11.1 The Low Point system as described in Appendix A is used.
11.2 Four races are required to constitute a DM.
11.3 (a) If fewer than 5 races are completed, a boat's score in the event will be equal to the sum of the boat's points from each race.
11.3 (b) If 5 or more races are completed, a boat's score in the event will be equal to the sum of the boat's points from each race excluding from its worst score.
12.1 According to local Danish Covid 19 restrictions, contact between support boats and participants is not allowed. Support boats must be at least 100m from the sailing area.
Support boats shall display their national flag or a white flag with their national letters as described in appendix G. Minimum size of the flags is 40 cm x 50 cm. The flags shall be clearly visible on both sides of the boats.
13 Location of Boats.
13.1 The Folkboats must be placed at bridge 7 on the north side.
14 Haul-out restrictions
14.1 Keelboats shall not be hauled up during the regatta from 08:00 on the first day of sailing to the finish after the last race, except with and according to the terms of prior written permission of the race committee
15 Diving equipment and Plastic Pools.
15.1 Underwater breathing apparatus and plastic pools or their equivalent shall not be used around keelboats between the preparatory signal of the first race and the end of the regatta.
16 Radio communications.
16.1 Except in an emergency, a boat shall neither make radio transmissions while racing nor receive radio communications not available to all boats.
This restriction also applies to mobile phones.
17.1 The following prizes shall be awarded:
17.1 (a) Prizes will be awarded on a ratio of one per each five boats, maximum 10 prizes.
18 Disclaimer of liability.
18.1 Competitors participate in the regatta entirely at their own risk. See rule 4, Decision to Race
18.2 The organizing authority will not accept any liability for material damage or personal injury or death sustained in conjunction with or prior to, during, or after the regatta.
19.1 Each participating boat shall be insured with valid third-party liability insurance with a minimum cover of DKK 5 million per event or the equivalent.
